There is another type of login problem that is not session cookie related.

In Drupal 5.1, commenting "sess_regenerate();" in the "user.module" file solves the problem!

THANK YOU SO MUCH. I've been research and trying to find a solution to this problem for ages. but each time i find a proposed solution, it's either not for drupal 5.1 or there are 5 solution to pick from.
